We accept submission in prose, poetry, and short fiction. We also accept submissions in visual media, including graphic art, 2D, 3D, and photography. SVR prints in full color. Please read our submission guidelines for more information.

SVR (2019) places 3rd in National Lit Mag competition

The 2019 issue of Suisun Valley Review, the literary magazine of Solano Community College (Fairfield, CA), received 3rd Place Literary Magazine in the long-running, national competition sponsored by the Community College Humanities Association (CCHA). CCHA  selects it awardees in each of its five divisions. For its 2019 issue, Suisun Valley Review won second place in the Pacific West Division which includes the states of California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and Alaska. Now in its thirty-sixth year, student-editors continue to collaborate carefully to select its contents from new and established writers/artists. SVR works closely with the SCC Writers Series by inviting key authors as features.

2018 Issue of Suisun Valley Review Awarded 2nd Place Literary Magazine for the Pacific-Western Region by Community College Humanities Association (CCHA)

After months spent reviewing, editing and deliberating, Issue #34 is on its way to binding!

Thank you to everyone who submitted this year!  We are endlessly grateful to all of the authors and artists who sent us their work. We are all incredibly proud of the magazine this year which includes diverse voices from around the world, including work from incarcerated students, Australian poets, and several artists from our own community.

We are looking forward to sharing our magazine with you at our Release Reading hosted by the editors this Friday, May 19th, at 2 p.m. in the Solano Community College Library, 4000 Suisun Valley Rd, Fairfield, CA 94534.

Please join us to hear readings from our featured poet, Susan Kelly-DeWitt, and also enjoy readings from several of our contributing authors. We will also be presenting the Quinton Duval Award for creative writing to this year’s winner.

Reviews are Underway

The editors at the Suisun Valley Review would like to thank all our contributors for this year’s spring edition of SVR. We received some amazing submissions this year and we have a tough job ahead of us!

We are working hard reviewing and making decisions for what we will be publishing in the Issue #34 of SVR.

We are excited to have everything completed in time for our May release reading.
